Question by ♪Jackie Blue ♪: On Christmas morn, if you woke up to a gift under the tree, you never received as a child, what would it be?
For me, I always wanted those kitchens sets that were in the Sears catalogs, showing a little girl with a fridge, range etc. We never had the money for it, nor the room, but I just realized, after marrying, I got the real thing. lol
I would appreciate anyone helping to report advertisements that are showing up as answers to our questions.

We wanted a dog. We wanted a dog very badly. Our family had very little and our parents worked like slaves for us…and there was just no money to take care of a pet in a responsible way….we were doing well to feed ourselves and to get ourselves adequate medical care. No money for vets, licensing, and a dog.

So, all of us were adults and living out on our own when we got our first dogs. Though we never spoke of it in terms of something we had all wanted as children….so as not to make our parents ever feel bad that there was something we had always wanted that they couldn’t get for us…..each of us got a dog as soon as we established homes that seemed set up for responsible dog ownership.

I figured that if I was going to be raising babies, might as well get a dog at the same time!

Already reported that git….I always report those advertising gits.

Amen to your additional details and I did!

I always wanted a swing set. Even in the middle of winter. Not only could we not afford it, we didn’t really have a yard big enough for it. I remember getting almost everything i ever wanted other than that.

A real Barbie doll. I never had one. My parents bought me the closest one to a Barbie but, it wasn’t the same. All of my girlfriends always talked of theirs and I really felt left out in a way. When I had children I bought them all kinds of Barbies.

    Ditto on the reporting. ;)

I always wanted on of those tricycles that looked liked a tractor and, believe it or not, I really wanted a set of encyclopedia. If the Internet had been around back then, I would have been in heaven!

Hi Jackie consider the reporting done!

Yes I would have liked a bridal doll complete with all the regalia like the one my friend had but I never received one as they were more expensive than an ordinary one.

I was resourceful though and cut up little pieces of lace and draped it around my plain little doll who was quite cute and I loved her but she was a poor copy of the real thing.

I always wanted a pony under the tree. Guess it wouldn’t fit, I never got it.

    I always wanted a horse!
Now I don’t know what in the world I would do with it! I have a small apartment on the ground level of my daughter’s and son-in-law’s home. They might not appreciate it! lol

Hi, Jackie, yes, I report spam whenever I see it.

Not me, I can’t even remember the things I wanted for Christmas, but I do remember my sister wanting a Chatty Cathy doll. We got up in the middle of the night to see if it was there. There was a doll but not Chatty Cathy. I think they may have been expensive at the time. I remember my brother wanting a “real guitar” and a “real scooter”. My aunt ended up giving him a guitar, I’ll never forget that. I always got books, which I loved getting. Bobbsey Twins, and later Nancy Drew. Good memories.

I had always wanted to have a small town with a train running through it with people (figures), a farm and a ranch, with cars also driving through the town with buildings. A make believe city with all of the figures and trees etc.

Great question! For me, it would be a doll house, full of furniture, & the little people that went with it. I always wanted one but never got one. One of my young friends had one & never played with it. When I went to her house to play, I always went to her playroom, sat at a little table, & played by the hours with her doll house. She’d play with something else & when the mood struck her, she’d play with the doll house with me. Lots of happy childhood memories!!!! ~Merry Christmas~

  18. Poppy Says:

My little sister always asked for a pony, a real one. So every Christmas morning she would get up and run to the window to see if the pony was out there. No such luck, then she would be sad no matter what was under the tree. For years she was like this and could not understand that we could not keep a horse in the city. She never got her horse and finally grew out of it. I always got what I ask for so I was ok. It is funny, today we have horses and sis never visits. She still lives in the city. Poppy
